| Men lie, Women just don't know what the Hell They are Saying... |

I have recently come to the conclusion that a large difference between men and women is the way they deal with predictions. Men know their limits and can make decent judgements upon request whilst women cannot do so. For example, a man will leave for an event and tell you he's 5 minutes away knowing that he's a half hour away. A woman will tell you it'll take her 10 minutes to get ready and truly believe this even though she still needs to brush her teeth, eat breakfast, do her hair, do her nails, put on make-up, pick an outfit and matching shoes, find the right jacket and put all the "essentials" into her purse. See, men and women differ and how they perceive and judge the flow of time. The following is a list of items I've noticed over the years:

| As you can see, at first the time needed/time asked ratio is very large and increasing then, it decreases and eventually becomes infinitesimal. This is because the Time needed vs. Time asked curve is logistic and women cannot commit to something longer than one year. We must not blame the women for this. Remember they do not know what they are saying. Their intentions are exactly as they say: 10 minutes implies she intends to be 10 minutes, forever implies she intends an infinite duration. The only problematic thing is that they have no concept of the ramifications of their words. And, no matter how many times it happens, they never learn. Ignorance is not grounds for punishment; thus, we must simply accept this fact and try to understand what a woman means when she says it. Men are far simpler creatures. We say things because they will get us out of trouble for the time being. We don't think any further than we need to. In other words, we only think up to the point in time we mean. So, if we say 5 minutes, we are thinking 10 minutes ahead; 1 hour implies we are thinking 90 minutes ahead. After that, all bets are off. So, this is what happens: We call you and tell you 10 minutes because, we are already late and want you to feel like we are trying to get there as quickly as possible when we know we are stuck in some situation simply because we left too late. Next, you call us in 12 minutes and we tell you, "I'm sorry I am*insert unfortunate situation here*" but, we do not tell you that the only reason we are in this situation is because we left too late. Then, we arrive 8 minutes later (20 minutes after we told you 10) knowing full well that we were going to be that long. We then push the entire ordeal to the side and tell you "let's just do what we came here to do" with a big smile and warm voice because, we have not thought far enough ahead to come up with something to say once we arrived. We then forget about the entire thing. The next day you hear from a friend that we were late because we were stupid not because of the unfortunate situation. You are now more angry now than you would have been if we told u from the start "look, I fucked up, I left late, sorry." It always backfires, without fail yet, we never learn. Since this isn't ignorance and its just us trying to cover our asses, there is grounds for punishment. But, since we are all like this you need to get over it and accept it just as we accept you making us "fashionably late" for things just because, you need to get your hair and shit perfect. The same basic rules apply to any other situation where what is said is not at all in accordance with what actually happens later on. Women just do not know what they are saying and men are just lying to try to get out of trouble. |
